The office is long established and has been managed since the fifties by Lawyer John van Nes Ziegler, who later became mayor of Cologne and Parliamentary President of North-Rhine Westphalia.
The field of activity that covered all existing legal areas essentially, was extended by a partial specialisation in Reparation and Compensation Law starting in 1958.
Greatly restricted by his political engagements, Lawyer John van Nes Ziegler in the Seventies handed over the management of the practice to Lawyer Günter Backes. Under his leadership the partnership extended its activities in a strong international direction.
In 1991 the office of tax adviser and sworn auditor Rüdiger Heck was integrated into the law firm and Mr. Heck appointed as a partner.
In 1995 the office was further extended by the long term experienced lawyers Gerd Kaiser and Thomas Brückel who joined as partners.
Today the practice understands itself as an advisory and service centre offering solutions in legal and tax matters to both the private client as well as medium-sized and small business.
Supported by modern office technology, four actively engaged professionals are at the firm’s disposal for any international Business Law/Law of Economics related queries as well as usual matters in the legal fields of Tenant/Lease Law, Family/Matrimonial Law or Traffic Law.
The office activities range from A –Arbeitsrecht, Abgabenordnung (Labour Law, Rates & Taxes Regulations) to Z – Zwangsvollstreckung (Execution Orders). Noteworthy in this regard is, proven by decades of successful engagement, the competency especially in the area of legal and business organisational advisory services to middle and eastern European works contract companies.
Yet, the client constantly remains the focal point of all endeavours and who is not only seen and acted on behalf as the carrier of a legal problem, but especially as an individual with all his strengths and weaknesses.
